TVET students to receive their allowances direct to their bank accounts from 2021
For the 2021 academic year, NSFAS will be migrating students from all TVET colleges, who receive their allowances through NSFAS Wallet and institutional disbursement services, to a direct payment system that will see students receiving their allowances directly into their bank accounts.
With an end goal to set aside cash, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will from 2021 begin issuing allowances straight into student's personal bank account.
From 2021, NSFAS will quit paying students at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) universities their allowances through the NSFAS wallet and institutional payment administrations. All things considered, all allowances will be paid straight into their bank accounts.
NSFAS was facing problems with the NSFAS wallet and some of the technical problems are not yet solved, TVET students are still crying out loud to the NSFAS Support team to get their NSFAS wallet account unlocked. Some did not get their allowances at all.

And is encouraging students to open bank accounts to receive their allowances in 2021.
If you planning to enrol at a public TVET college in 2021, it is important that you open a bank account in preparation for the roll out of allowances through bank accounts.
